Canadian First Nations Women Preservice Teachers' Experiences and Perceptions Regarding Technology

 The primary purpose of this research was to collect data for Canadian First Nations educators and policy makers use in making decisions surrounding issues women technology education. Nine preservice teachers at the intern stage their Indian Teacher Education Program University Saskatchewan were engaged indepth interviews concerning experiences perceptions regarding technology.
 study found that participants defined first foremost as computer-related. Some viewed from cultural aspect, thought used financial gain would take away traditional family values. needed training they develop self-confidence become role models order exercise leadership field stated university experience responsible most learning about technology. They did not, however, feel prepared face encounter schools.
 Intimidation, stereotypes, lack access exposure technology, a good self-image, time, perceived be some biggest barriers using Men intimidation stories with negative images one strongest deterrents advancing area Findings had significant implications. teacher preparation programs should include required credit courses establish daycare centers.
